Kidney Cancer Symptoms

Kidney cancer presents a special challenge because you may not notice any symptoms when the disease is just developing.

If you do have symptoms, they may include:

• blood in your urine
• lower back pain that doesn’t have an obvious cause
• fatigue
• unexplained weight loss, which may come on quickly
• a fever not due to a cold or flu
• swollen legs or ankles

Many of these symptoms are also associated with other medical conditions, such as an infection, so having any of them does not necessarily mean that you have kidney cancer.
